  1. My hair is 2b, fine, thin, porous.

I find this technique really helps encourage my hard to encourage waves. I scrunch in my curl enhancer and then later on scrunch in my gel. If your second product is a sticky gel (like Biosilk Rock Hard Gelle), be sure to wet your hands slightly before scrunching in the gel. If you don't wet your hands first, the sticky gel will pull individual hairs away from the clumps, making hair look frizzy.

  2. It took some time playing with this technique until I got it to work. I agree that using wet hands to scrunch in gel on drier hair really helps hair not stick to hands. This seems to work best for me when I add all of my gel before diffusing, then scrunching in more gel mixed with Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing smoothie. This will make my hair fuller, and it curls up into big curls ad spirals!
Also, it helps hair get drier faster. It breaks the gel cast and releases some of the moisture trapped in the clumps, but because you are scrunching with product, it doesn't lead to frizz.
