Plopping Overnight

When there isn't an image to go with a post, I just added a picture of cute puppies.

  1. My hair is 2b, fine, thin, porous.

I only tried this once or twice. I just end up with my hair plastered to my head in the morning and wonky waves the next day.

  2. 2c with 2 a & b mixed in, normal-fine, normal-thin, porous

I can get anywhere from ok to WOW results plopping overnight. It's a bit unpredictable, so it's not something I rely on, but if I have to go bed with wet hair, this how I do it.

  3. My hair is 2c, fine, medium density, medium porosity. This is a complete disaster for me. Like pedaheh, I end up with curls plastered to my head, that - granted - are very curly, but very wonky and unsalvageable. The only thing this technique is useful for, for me, is if I want to leave coconut oil in my hair overnight before shampooing in the morning. In that case, it helps keep the oil more contained on my hair and less on my pillowcase - which is always a good thing! :)

  4. My hair is 2b/2c, medium to course texture, moderate to high porosity. I tried to plop overnight one time and my hair was horrible the next day. I had to re-wet it and scrunch with more gel. My hair looked stringy with funky shaped waves, and just awful. I will never do that again.

  5. I do this every time I wash my hair. I have my best hair days when using this method. I have low porosity hair, so my hair takes upwards of 5 hours to dry. When I plop overnight, it cuts my drying time to about 3 hours. When you take your hair down, it does seem a little plastered to your head, not gonna lie. Some things that help are using a good leave in conditioner and plopping while your hair is still pretty wet. The idea is to cut drying time, not let it dry overnight. Once you take it down, hang your head upside down and shake, then take your fingers and loosen up your roots slowly and controlled. Also be careful of the way your hair is positioned in the plop to avoid getting wonky waves and curls.
