  1. 2b•fine•normal/low porosity•normal elasticity

I've never used Matrix Biolage Conditioning Balm before, so I can't compare/contrast the two. GVPCB is very thick. It's quite difficult to get out of the bottle, but don't let this deter you because it gives tremendous slip. My tangles and knots just fall out of my hair with minimal finger combing in the shower. I'd give it a 7 out of 10 for moisturizing my hair as a rinse-out. I personally don't use it as a leave-in. I don't have a particular problem with moisture because of my low porosity, so if you have porous hair, you may rate it higher or like it as a leave-in. Even though I only give it a 7, I still consider it a "Holy Grail" product in my hair care routine. I will never be without a bottle in the house, if I can help it.

    INGREDIENTS:
Water (Aqua), Propylene Glycol, Myristyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Decyl Oleate, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance (Parfum), Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Hexyl Cinnamal, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Hydrastis Canadensis (Golden Seal) Extract, Fucus Vesiculosus (Bladderwack) Extract, Methyl-2-Octynoate

  2. My hair: 2b/c; texture: Fine; Density: Medium; Porosity: normal/low; Elasticity: Normal.

Moisture Scale Rating: 8. 10 if you leave it in for a bit and add heat.

This is my "Holy Grail" conditioner! When the bottle says balm it isn't exaggerating, this stuff is thick! But don't be afraid of the thickness of this balm, it rinses clean- leaving behind nothing but moisturized hair. (Just to be sure: I used it on my daughters baby-fine, easily weighed down hair, and it didn't weigh her down at all). This product has very good slip to boot. It makes my tangles just slip out! I noticed an immediate difference in the feel of my hair after just one use, it left my hair silky and hydrated, but not over-conditioned.

  3. My hair - 2B/2C some 3A tendencies - fine, medium density, high porosity

    Conditioning rating: 5-6 - detangling A+

I love this conditioner also. I was leary of it being too heavy for my fine hair, but I consistently use this when I low-poo (which is pretty much daily). I don't find it to be too heavy and I usually put my hair in a turban while I finish my shower and then rinse it really well at the end of my shower. I don't need to do DT's due to my hair not being dry, but his conditioner seems to be just enough daily moisture for me to be balanced. To me it doesn't seem to have a fragrance and the thickness and texture makes detangling really effortless. Love this stuff (I have another bottle in the closet so I don't run out). Price is excellent and as far as I know, the GVP brand is only at Sally's

  4. 2 c with 2 a & b, normal-fine, normal-thin, porous

    Moisture Rating: 8

I adore this condish! I credit this conditioner as being one of the main things to get my super dry hair back in shape! I also add honey and coconut oil to it for my DT's (deep treatments). I use this conditioner instead of the packets of condish that come in my boxes of hair color, and it always works better.
Yes, it is quite thick. But as other reviewers have said, it isn't "heavy". It does rinse out clean leaving my hair feeling fantastic.

  5. Hair type: 2a/fine/high density/medium porosity/normal elasticity.

This is a staple in my shower. I use this when my hair is feeling dry or when I have a lot of tangles. It has a really thick, creamy consistency and great slip. It never weighs my hair down. Sometimes I mix a bit of this into my Cure Care if I need a bit of extra mositure or slip. I can also use it as a leave in with no problems. As far as moisture, I would say its about an 8.

  6. My hair is 2b, fine, thin, porous.

Moisture rating 7 (see the FAQ)

My hair is very picky about ingredients. When I started CG, my hair was very dry. This was one of the conditioners that worked for my picky hair and was moisturizing enough for my dry hair. I really liked it, but I find the red Renpure to be a little more moisturizing. If they ever stop making Renpure, I'd go back to GVP Conditioning Balm.

  7. My hair is 2a/b, fine, thin, and questionable porosity(might be high but I'm still figuring that out)

I rate this conditioner as a moisture rating 7-8.

I use this conditioner as my regular RO. I love it. It's very thick, but provides great slip, which my hair loves. When I need a DT, I just put a big gob of this in and leave it on for 30 min to an hour. My hair tends to not like protein, which is another reason I love this conditioner.

  8. My hair is 2b/fine/low density/high porosity/normal elasticity

I absolutely love this conditioner! I use it as my rinse out, leave-in, and deep conditioning treatment. I was afraid that this would weigh down my very fine hair, but it doesn't.

  9. 2B, fine, med density, med-high porosity, med elasticity

This is my one true love. This is probably the one product out of all the gels, conditioners, low poos, mousses, etc, that I've bought the most of though out my CG journey.

    Moisture: 7-8
    Slip: 8-9

  10. Hair: 2C•fine•normal/high porosity•low density

This conditioner consistently over-conditions my hair, even if I don't let it sit on my hair and rinse out immediately. Which is a shame because it had so much promise.
