I can't give a very complete review on this, as I have only used it once. I'm sort of new at styling my hair wavy. My waves are very limp and they require a LOT of encouragement and support. I picked this up at Target. I don't recall if I used it in wet or dry hair, or if I air-dried or diffused. I just remember that it wasn't enough hold for me.

For reference: I use BRHG by the handful. I like supercrunch hard hold.

  2. For my fine wavy hair, this helps a little with the clumps, and isn't sticky. Although I like the scent, it doesn't seem to mesh well with the other Kinky Curly products. This has a lavender and herbal scent and the other items like Knot Today and the Curling Custard are a sweet coconut like scent. How well does this work? It works alright, but as glycerin is an ingredient, it eventually dries my hair and leads to frizz, regardless of whether I top it with a harder hold gel. It says you can use this on second day hair, however, I've not found this to work for me. It is a little tacky on dry hair fr me, though it is a fairly non-sticky product. I still have half a bottle of it, but I won't repurchase it. Oh, and for the record, it is not a spray at all...it's more of a thin gel or jelly that comes out in more of a stream than a spray.

  3. My hair is 2c, fine, medium porosity, medium density. The only thing I have found this useful for is scrunching out the crunch once my hair is completely dry. It seems to be disastrous when I put it on wet hair - lots of frizz (probably thanks to the glycerin). It doesn't do much (ok, anything) as a refresher for me. But, it is nice for SOTC - I think it helps break up the gel cast while adding back in a smidge of soft hold.

I have to agree with wavymom that the only use I find for this product is for scrunching out the crunch when I've over-gelled my hair. It's great for that. But it doesn't make my curls better, doesn't create clumps, has no hold, and doesn't work as a refresher.

  5. I find this to be a good second day product. It is also actually not bad to mix into a conditioner, water, gel spray as a DIY second day refresher. I also don't think it's a bad, fast and dirty definer when you just need some definition and aren't going to really try for curl curl. Aces for the "no strong smell" camp.
